Top make this necklase I used two types of size 10 seed beads - clear and
black and size 6 black beads for accents. The length of the necklase is
52 inches (include the length of tassel). Length of each tassel
is about 3 inches. Actually the necklase has an additional part - a ring
with 2 inches diameter, that I use to bundle the nekclace (it creates an
effect of the knot on the necklace).
The necklace was made in even count tubular peyot technique, based on 12
beads.
Phase 1: Creating a tubular peyot
1 row: String 12 black beads on the thread, tie the square knot.
2 row: Pull the needle trough the first bead in the first row,
add 1 clear bead, pull the needle trough the third bead. Add black bead,
pull trough 5-th bead, continue adding (clear and black by turns).
String last bead in the row, and pull needle trough 1-st bead from the
first row and 1-st bead from the second row.
Continue using a diagram. A red dots on te diagram marks first bead an
every row. Stop when you reach a desirable length.
Phase 2: Creating a tasseles
For a tassel prepare 6 short threads. Length of the thread should by an about three
times of length of your tassel. Pull each thread trough one of the uttermost
bead on your peyote, and place the bead at the center of the thread.
Take a size 6 bead, and pull all the ands trough it. Now just add a beads
at the treads, and fasten the ends.
Phase 3: Creating a ring
I made a ring to secure the necklace.
To make a ring just make a piece of peyote (about 6 inches long), and
connect the ends of it.
Fold it in half and pull the ends of necklace through it.
This method gives an possibility to change an appearance of the necklace, by
moving the ring.
